Youth actors learn the fundamentals of Short form live improv. Based upon Upright Citizens Brigade’s approach, the program will be taught by veteran improvisational creator Joseph Davis, Director of Happenstancery Improv. Youth actors will spend ten weeks stretching their imaginations, learning how to collaborate as part of a team, and partnering with other actors to create sketch comedy in the spontaneous fast-paced creation of combustible situations, characters and storylines!

JOSEPH ANTHONY DAVIS is a film Director, SAG Actor, and the founder of Happenstancery Improv. His film productions have included “The Dead Don’t Die”, “In Holding”, “Can You Keep A Secret”, “The Green Veil”, and Greg Bray’s “Escapism” where Joe won Best Actor in the “Talking it Out” Film Festival. Joe’s work on stage includes leading roles in “Inside The Cuckoo’s Nest”, King Claudius in Epiphany Shakespeare’s production of “Hamlet The Clown Prince”, and “Madea” with the Hudson Valley Performing Arts Lab.
Most recently, Joe has launched the 3rd Thursday Variety show at the Rosendale Theatre, and performs around New York with Happenstancery Improv including at the 2023 Hill People’s Comedy Festival.
