Enter the world of a 1920’s Prohibition-Era Speakeasy (we’ll serve our wine in teacups!). There will be more surprises inside! F. Scott Fitzgerald’s beloved classic comes to life as a live radio play in this spirited adaptation by Joe Landry of The Great Gatsby.
This radio play tells the classic Jazz Age story of Jay Gatsby, a self-made millionaire, and his pursuit of Daisy Buchanan, a young woman he loved in his youth. The action takes place on the stage of WRDL – Rosendale Live Radio Station. This is a story of triumph and tragedy that reflects the decadence of the Jazz Age and the perils of the American Dream. Still, ain’t we got fun?
An ensemble of six actors brings more than two dozen characters from the novel to the stage. The cast includes Lydia Pidlusky, Adam Liebowitz, Brian Mathews, Rick Meyer, Janet E. Nurre, and Ross Pasquale.
Our Theatre Arts Director, Ann Citron produces and directs this immersive event. In addition, our production will include live sound effects by Fre Atlast and a live swing band that features Debbie Lan, Lori Morris, Rich DeCrosta, and Tim Allen.
Feel free to join the fun and dress for the era but there is no obligation to do so.
