Join us on the global day of giving, Tuesday November 30th at 7:30. We will be celebrating The Rosendale Theatre with music, poetry and dance. We will also be showing the documentary, The Movie House on Main. Joining us for a Q&A is the director and editor of the film, Teresa Torchiano.
Presenters include:
Tess Moreland, a singer-songwriter and music teacher living in Rosendale, NY. Her recent projects include her work with Shybaby, a pop-punk band in Brooklyn, and her soon to be EP, Rewind. New to the Hudson Valley, she’s looking for people to jam with.
Lissa Kiernan, is a writer and poet her first book of prose, Glass Needles & Goose Quills won the Nautilus Gold Prize for Lyric Prose and the Independent Book Awards Prize in the cross-genre category. Her first collection of poetry, Two Faint Lines in the Violet, was a finalist for the Julie Suk Award and Indiefab Book of the Year. Lissa is the director of The Poetry Barn.
Dojo Dance Company, featuring directors Maia Martinez & David Salvatierra they perform and teach Argentine Tango, Latin Rhythms & Martial Arts. The goal of the company is to share cultural values, create community through dance and improve lifestyle by inspiring people to move.
Teresa Torchiano is a director, editor, and cinematographer. Her interest in the preservation of small single screen movie theaters emerged from her own efforts to preserve the local single screen movie theater in her hometown of Lindenhurst, NY. She began her career in documentary film as the First Assistant Editor on the film Trouble the Water which won the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival in 2008.
