June is Gun Violence Awareness Month
Together We Must Aim for a Future Free From Gun Violence!
This free streaming event featured a message from Ulster County Executive Patrick Ryan, an interview with Congressman Antonio Delgado, and was followed by a panel of local activists who discussed what can be done to address the horrors of gun violence in the U.S. At the end of the panel, viewers were invited to ask questions.
The panelists include:
Giselle “Gigi” Goldfischer – Director of Hudson Valley Stand Up! and a Junior at Arlington High School
Andrew Zink – Treasurer, Ulster County Democratic Committee
Andrea Gonzalez – Director of Operations at Youth Over Guns and the Director of Community and Youth Engagement at New Yorkers Against Gun Violence
Glenn Geher – Co-Founder of Move Forward NY Professor, Department of Psychology, State University of New Paltz
The event was moderated by Maitreya Motel a founding member of the Rosendale Theatre’s Teen Advisory Board, a youth activist, and vlogger at Eye on Politics (http://eyeonpolitics.net).
