The Hudson Valley’s own Robert Burke Warren brings the music of David Bowie to the Rosendale Theatre with Acoustic Stardust. For this unplugged evening, RBW rearranges classic Bowie hits and a few deep cuts, offering two intimate sets of music spanning Bowie’s career from 1971 to 2016. Collaborators include pianist Dennis Yerry, bassist/vocalist Mark Lerner (Life in a Blender), percussionist Peter Newell (The Trapps), and vocalists Nancy Howell (Rosine) Ann Osmond, and wunderkind Cally Mansfield.
With Acoustic Stardust, RBW turns Rosendale Theatre into a cross between a cabaret and a folk club. He says: “Certain Bowie songs gain a new kind of power when they’re stripped down to their essence, just voice and one or two instruments. Unplugged, the storytelling, imagery, and melodies really shine, and performer and audience enjoy a cozy rapport.”
Arrowood Farms Brewery will be on hand with their renowned beverages. Doors will be open to all, including the spirit of our onetime Woodstock neighbor, David Bowie, whose music lives on with Acoustic Stardust.
