Each week or so we will feature one of the many volunteers that make the Rosendale Theatre happen.

Ronald Whiteurs

Ronald Whiteurs has been a steadfast volunteer at the theater since the early days of the Rosendale Theatre Collective. He works as a ticket taker and concession seller at the nightly films and special events.

When did you first come to the Rosendale Theatre?
I can’t remember when I first came to the Rosendale Theatre. It was many years before Co-Operative.

Why do you volunteer for the Rosendale Theatre?
I volunteer for the Theatre mainly because I live so close by and because I’m retired with tons of free time on my hands.

Where did you grow up?
I was born in the Bronx, lived there till 9 years old, then brought up in the hills of Mahwah, New Jersey.

What is your favorite movie?
My favorite movie is a series: Four Daughters, Four Wives, and Four Mothers, with Claude Raines, my favorite actor.

What do want to be when you grow up?
I want to be King of Great Britain when I grow up!

Words you try and live by or life philosophy?
All the words of Lewis Carroll, Edward Lear, Gilbert & Sullivan, and J. R. R. Tolkien, amongst others!

Anything else you would like us to know about you?
I love toy trains.
