The Sojourner Playhouse is very proud to present The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, an adaptation of the beloved book by L. Frank Baum.   Dorothy Gale of Kansas is whisked away to a bizarre world, millions of miles from her home, and goes off in search of a famous wizard to help her return.  On her journey- for which her faithful dog Toto tags along- she befriends a motley assortment of characters, all longing to have their wishes fulfilled by the wizard, too.  During their quest, they work together to overcome obstacles, only to discover in the end that what they each sought was within reach all along.  Director Nikki Vly, with the help of a group of students, wove the script directly from the original book (not the movie)specifically for this cast of children ages eight through eleven.  The production is the culmination of the Sojourner Playhouse’s three week summer theater program.  The Playhouse is offering the show FREE OF CHARGE at the Rosendale Theater on Saturday, June 18th, at 2 PM and 5 PM, as part of the Rosendale Street Festival.  Please come and enjoy the show!
