Live concert performance of Bruce Springsteen singing songs from his album ‘Western Stars’.
Directored by Bruce Springsteen and Thom Zimny.

Rolling Stone magazine praised Western Stars, which Springsteen co-directed with longtime collaborator/codirector Thom Zimny. It debuted this past fall at the Toronto Film Festival. The film visually dramatizes the album, which Rolling Stone called a “collection of songs about road warriors and B-movie actors, beat-up stuntmen and places where truckers and bikers drink together.” The centerpiece of the film is a 14-song concert by Springsteen, wife Patti Scialfa, and several musicians – including a 30-piece orchestra – all performing on the top floor of the barn on Springsteen’s New Jersey horse farm.

About the Co-Director: Thom Zimny has been official videographer for Bruce Springsteen projects for several years. For decades he has been a director and editor of many musical videos and music documentaries. Projects include directing Springsteen on Broadway, The Gift: The Journey of Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley: The Searcher, and numerous Springsteen and E Street Band video shorts and documentaries. He also directed 12 episodes of HBO’s acclaimed series “The Wire.”
