Four showings of a film that celebrates 40 years of New York City gay history as told through photographs by the man behind the camera.

The short film “Stanley Stellar: Here For This Reason” was created by Eric Leven and edited by Josh Wolff and premiered at the TriBeca Film Festival in 2019.

In advance of the spring edition of BARNWOOD: A Gay Erotic Art Show Featuring the Male Form From Nude to Lewd, Pink Stallion is screening this film to highlight the work of photographer Stanley Stellar, one of the show’s featured artists.

This 15 minute film is being offered as a way to learn more about the artist and to help support the re-opening efforts of the Rosendale Theatre. By offering a short format film, we’re encouraging the community to come in and see how the theatre has been working to renovate their space over the last year during its pandemic closure.

The themes of this film are appropriate for audiences 18+. Four screenings will run from 2pm to 5pm with a maximum audience of 40 guests per showing. The 5pm screening will include a discussion with Josh Wolff, the editor of the film, who is based in Saugerties, NY.

No concessions will be offered. Masks are required in the theatre per New York State guidelines.
