The Rosendale Theatre is launching a new youth theatre program to be led by Broadway veteran Ryan Emmons. On Broadway, Ryan was the assistant director of Ghost the Musical, Matilda and Groundhog Day. He also traveled the country as the Resident director on the national tours of Matilda and Miss Saigon. Ryan is the artistic director of the theatre ensemble No.11 Productions where he has directed many shows over the past twelve years. In tandem with his directing work, Ryan served as the New York State Chapter Director of the Educational Theatre Association (NY Thespians) for 8 years and has helmed several college, high school and middle school theatre programs and productions.

To kick off the Rosendale Youth Program, Ryan will be directing high school aged actors in a production of Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night. The show will be part of what we hope will be an annual summer series we’re calling “Shakespeare in the Park -ingLot”. This year’s program is for young actors from 14-18 years old and will be held for five weeks Monday-Friday from July 19-Aug22. The first three weeks run from 10-2 (July 19-Aug 2) and the last two weeks will run from 10-4 (Aug 9-Aug22). Performances will be held on August 21 and 22nd. Actors must be available for the full 5 week program to participate. Cost for the entire program is $400.
