The Kingston Film Foundation and WTF Wednesday are thrilled to present QWEIRD CINEMA, a four-film celebration of the weird side of the queer cinematic canon!
Join us as we journey across time and space, from the seedy underbelly of the 70’s Paris porno scene in Yann Gonzalez’s KNIFE + HEART, to the seedy underbelly of the 80’s Baltimore suburbs in John Waters’ POLYESTER, to the seedy underbelly of the 90’s Los Angeles party scene in Gregg Araki’s NOWHERE, to the seedy underbelly of modern day Gotham City’s stand-up scene in Vera Drew’s THE PEOPLE’S JOKER!
And when we said this series is a celebration, we meant it’s a celebration! Each screening will be accompanied by queer-owned food popups and vendors, a pre-show, lovingly crafted by our friends at Sleepover Trading Co., and an LGBTQ&A featuring a member of the queer film community!
Each screening will also feature a raffle to support queer youth organizations and continued LGBTQ programming at the Rosendale Theatre.
For full screening details, check out the listings below.
This project is made possible with funds from the New York State Legislature and administered by Arts Mid-Hudson
