An ode to the remarkable variety of life in the Hudson Valley, The Nature of Nature: Biodiversity in the Hudson Valley celebrates the living fabric of this unique landscape. From high elevation forests to the globally rare tidal marshes along the Hudson estuary, the film captures the beautiful, the complex, the familiar, and the unknown…guided by the plants, animals, and people that call the Hudson Valley home.

Join us for the premiere public screening followed by a panel with Hudson Valley conservationists and biologists featured in the film, including:

  • Pia Ruisi-Besares, Scenic Hudson
  • Jim Bonesteel, Hudson Taconic Lands
  • Laura Heady, Hudson River Estuary Program and Cornell University
  • Gretchen Stevens, Hudsonia Ltd.
  • Alex Wolf, Scenic Hudson
  • Ron Zorilla, Outdoor Promise

Directed by Emmy-award winning Laura deNey and produced by Flicker Filmworks in partnership with Laura Heady at the DEC Hudson River Estuary Program and Cornell University.
