Residents mobilize against development and force a primary against elected town board members. Brooklynite Seth returns to his hometown and learns that his ex-girlfriend is one of the candidates. To be near her he volunteers for her campaign while secretly speaking with developers. This dark comedy that takes place during the Obama presidency evokes nostalgia while exposing our present-day tragedy: Us vs Them. The cast of characters band together, but money wields power, and the land they are seeking to preserve is worth millions. Capitalism presents to us the moral question: If we abandon our ideals, who do we become?
