Buster plays financial broker Jimmie Shannon who is nearly bankrupt. Things look up when an attorney presents him with his grandfather’s will that leaves him seven million dollars. But in order to inherit all that money, Jimmie must get married before 7:00 PM on his 27th birthday. Seems pretty easy, but today is his birthday and the world appears to be populated by liberated flappers who would rather stay single. Jimmie’s luck changes when the newspaper tells of his coming inheritance. He is overwhelmed by eager brides who may not have romance on their minds. The result is one of Keaton’s greatest and nightmarish gags – The Running of the Brides! We will also show Buster’s film short “One Week” and Hal Roach’s 1928 short “Pass the Gravy”.
With live piano accomplishment by Marta Waterman.
