MOONAGE DAYDREAM illuminates the life and genius of David Bowie, one of the most prolific and influential artists of our time. This documentary unfolds through sublime, kaleidoscopic, never-before-seen footage, performances and music. Director, editor and Producer Brett Morgen (The Kid Stays in the Picture, Cobain: Montage of Heck, Jane) created a feature-length experiential cinematic odyssey that explores David Bowie’s creative, musical and spiritual journey. While researching the film, Morgen came across hundreds of hours of never-before-seen 35mm and 16mm footage, allowing him to assemble Bowie’s performances from these original camera masters. The resulting project is described as “an artful and life-affirming film that takes the audience on a journey through Bowie’s creative life.” The film is guided by David Bowie’s own narration and is the first officially sanctioned film on the artist.
