VR, Crafts, Cake and Community

Presented by: My KingstonKids and Kingston Black History

“MLK: Now is the Time” is an immersive journey that explores key themes of Dr. King’s speech and highlights systemic inequities that persist in our society. Through first-person stories and interactions, “MLK: Now is the Time” drops a participant into a thoroughly modern interpretation of a contemporary March on Washington. This immersive session leverages the power of virtual reality (VR) to provide a unique and impactful learning experience.

Live Performance and a Film 

Presented by: The Center for Creative Education and The Rosendale Theatre

A dynamic spoken word and dance performance by the award-winning Energy Dance Company followed by a screening of the award-winning film, Rustin (PG – 13).

About the film: Activist Bayard Rustin faces racism and homophobia as he helps change the course of Civil Rights history by orchestrating the 1963 March on Washington. Starring: Academy Award Nominee Colman Domingo, Chris Rock, and Glynn Turman.
