Live Theatre: Day Jobs, Side Hustles and Night Gigs: The Labor Day Plays

BUY TICKETS
Sun, Aug 31,
7:00 pm

Join us for a fundraiser for the Rosendale Theater, “Day Jobs, Side Hustles and Night Gigs: The Labor Day Plays” will present short theatrical works by local writers, brought to life in staged readings by local actors. Comedy, tragedy, triumph and struggles of the workforce will be highlighted, with musical accompaniment. This event will honor contemporary workers of all stripes including police officers, waitresses, office temps, cashiers, online sex workers and government employees.

Mountain Valley Playwrights, a Kingston based development group for playwrights, is organizing the event. Playwrights and lyricists include Mark Morganstern, Nina Shengold, Karen Rich, David Gittelman, Donald Margolis, Charles Knightly, Cheryl Church and Mik Horowitz. Actors include Terri Mateer, Sharon Dixon, Mourka Meyendorf, Linda Reznick, Amos Newcombe, Phillip Levine, Bruce Pileggi, Eamon Martin and Connie Lopez.

So come out to the show to celebrate the laborers in your life—both seen and unseen—without whom we could not survive. At the same time, support the Theater, a hub of community creativity and connection. Last but not least, kick back, grab a handful of buttered popcorn—and enjoy.
