From the 1940s through the 1960s, Catskills and comedy were synonymous. Following last year’s extraordinary sold-out show, Alte Cocker (aka cranky old fart, a complainer) returns with five hilarious comedians that remind us it’s a lot more fun to laugh at pain when we recognize the complaint.
John Ziegler, voted ‘Funniest comic on the East Coast’ has been producing and performing comedy for over 15 years. He regularly tours with the legendary Bobby Collins and has opened for Sebastian Maniscalco, Gilbert Gottfried, Jim Breuer, and Robert Klein. His latest special, ‘Getting My Affairs in Order’ has garnered over 14M TikTok views.
Liz Glazer is an award-winning writer, actor and comedian who left a distinguished career in law and as a tenured law professor to perform stand-up. Winner of the Boston Comedy Festival and Ladies of Laughter, she’s published numerous articles and been featured in The Wall Street Journal. She’s currently writing a television pilot about her life as a former lawyer, lesbian, and rabbi’s wife.
Tom Eschelman, NYC based actor and comedian was a finalist in Kenan Thompson’s Nationwide Comedy Showcase, been featured on Gotham All-Stars, and regularly performs at Gotham Comedy Club. He’s opened for Mark Normand (The Tonight Show), shared the stage with Jerry Seinfeld and Jim Gaffigan, and performs on TV, in theatres and comedy clubs.
Beth Farber is a bona fide alte cocker who’s been performing at comedy clubs, charity events and private parties since giving up her 30-year career as a successful trial lawyer representing indigent criminal defendants. Being a native of Brooklyn (when it was the most dangerous place in America) along with her legal experiences provide an endless source of black humor.
