2/14/23 – 4/9/23
The Rosendale Theatre Collective is proud to announce a regional call for writers (who reside at least part-time in the Mid-Hudson Valley) for submission of original, previously unproduced ten to twelve-minute plays for a fully produced short play festival – LOVE IS LOVE, The LGBTQ+ Plays. The festival will have four performances at the Rosendale Theatre on June 8,9,10, and 11, 2023 during PRIDE.
Invited are different perspectives on LGBTQ+ issues and themes—personal, political, and everything in between. Styles can be realistic, fantastical, musical, ridiculous, sublime, anything! All pieces must have small casts (no larger than five cast members), and very simple settings are requested. The ten to twelve-minute requirement will be strictly adhered to. This is around twelve pages of standard script format in 12-point type.
To Apply:
All submissions must be sent to: ann@rosendaletheatre.org.
The deadline for submissions is midnight on April 8, 2023.
A committee of theatre directors, including Susan Einhorn, Guy Anthony, Ann Citron and one more tbd, will choose the plays to be invited into the festival, and the selection will be announced on April 24, 2023.
Auditions for the festival will take place on April 29 and 30th from 10am-3pm at the Rosendale Theatre. More information about the auditions will be coming soon!
