ROSENDALE THEATRE IS SO PROUD TO HOST THIS EXTRAORDINARY FULL LENGTH FILM BY YOUNG AND UP AND COMING NEW PALTZ WRITERS AND PRODUCERS! WE LOVE TO SUPPORT LOCAL TALENT AND HOPE YOU WILL JOIN US AND PARTICIPATE IN OUR MISSION TO GIVE ARTISTS A FORUM AND A SPACE TO SHOWCASE THIER WORK.

Filmed primarily in the town of New Paltz, Bird Sanctuary follows a group of friends through the latter years of their adolescence. Cinematographer Alex Young and Writer/Director Myles Flusser met when they were seven years old, and their shared history informs the film’s deeply personal story. Set against the majestic Hudson Valley landscapes of their childhood, Bird Sanctuary unfolds as an epic coming-of-age tale exploring grief, addiction, and the passage of time. Made by a small group of New Paltz natives, the film was shot over several years. As the filmmakers grew, so did their characters — their wounds, struggles, and self-discovery woven into the fabric of the movie.

Join the Director, Cinematographer and other members of the cast and crew afterwards for a Q&A!
