Rosendale Theatre, Ann Citron – Theatre Arts Director, announces auditions for Dorothy Marcic’s Off-Broadway hit, RESPECT; This one’s for the girls. A musical revue.
From co-dependent to independent, from “Someone to Watch Over Me” to “I will Survive.” It’s the journey of women’s independence, told through Top-40 music.
Directed by Ovi Vargas, Choreographed by Liz Piccoli and Music Direction by Lee Stowe.
Performances will play at the Rosendale Theatre as well as the Phoenicia Playhouse.
The show will rehearse and open at the Rosendale Theatre on Thursday March 27th and run Friday through Sunday and close Sunday March 30th with two shows on Saturday March 29th (5 performances). The show will then transfer to the Phoenicia Playhouse and open Friday April 4th and play the first two weekends of April, closing on Sunday April 13th. (6 performances). There is a possibility that 1 more performance will be added.
Rehearsals to start early February, specific schedule TBD.
Looking for 4 very strong female singers plus 1 understudy. Must be able to move well and act. Performers must commit to both tech week and all 11 performances.
There is a $1,000 performance fee per performer at the end of the run.
Please come prepared with a pop song. Please bring sheet music and sing something that shows you off at your best. We may ask for a second song.
