What does the Declaration of Independence have to do with you? Find out on Saturday, July 4 at 9:30 am at A Reading of the Declaration of Independence at Rosendale Theatre. For the 8th consecutive year, Rosendale Theatre, sponsored by BlueStone Press, will host the free family-friendly event, but with a twist–the 2020 edition will be virtual. Twenty individuals—civic and business leaders, students, teachers, artists—representatives of all facets of our community—will take turns reading the document that changed the world. The whole experience will take less than half an hour. To join go to Rosendale Theatre’s website, rosendaletheatre.dreamhosters.com, or Rosendale Theatre’s YouTube channel on July 4 where the link will be posted.
Confirmed readers for 2020 include: Joyce Sprafkin, Cole Stewart, Carol Smith, Beth Albright, Scott Schaffrick, Brian Drabkin, Victoria Coyne, Diana Zuckerman, Lisa Berger, Bill Calderara, Jared Buono, Grace Barnum, Sylvia Diaz, Rabbi Yael Romer, Stuart Robinson, Evelyn Lafontaine, and Thomas Childers. Lori Gross and Fraser will lead a sing-along. Friends, there will be no reason to be self-conscious about your voice this year if you are singing at home. And the event will conclude with a special appearance by Rosendale Improvement Association Brass Band & Social Club.
