As Varla Jean Merman, Jeffery Roberson has filled cabarets and concert halls across the world for nearly 20 years. One of the world’s most famous drag performers, Varla Jean has performed at the Sydney Opera House, Carnegie Hall, and the New York Public Theater and now he’s headed to the Hudson Valley of New York for the first time in over a decade!
A Julliard trained vocalist, Varla Jean Merman starred in the original musical Lucky Guy opposite Leslie Jordan in NY at the Little Schubert in spring 2011 prompting The New York Times to rave, “If Carol Burnett and Harvey Korman had stood in front of the right pair of funhouse mirrors, they might have resembled Ms. Merman and Mr. Jordan in stature as well as comedic talent”.
Varla Jean Merman appeared on Ugly Betty in the final season of the 
show and was also featured on Bravo’s Project Runway Season 5 as the winning model for the show’s drag challenge – and now you can see Varla Jean live at the Rosendale Theater on Saturday night, April 8th!
